UAE – Mubasher: Banks in the UAE have lowered their investments in debt securities and stocks by AED 1.3 billion ($353.84 million) by the end of February 2020, according to data by the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE).
The Emirati banks have cut their investments in bonds by AED 1.1 billion ($299.4 million) or 0.4% month-on-month (MoM) to AED 252.6 billion ($68.7 billion) last month, when compared to AED 253.7 billion ($69.05 billion) in January 2020.
Moreover, banks invested AED 10.5 billion in stocks in February, down by 1.9% or AED 200 million ($54.44 million) from AED 10.7 billion in January.
The total investments by UAE banks have reached AED 409.6 billion in February, down by 0.6% from AED 412.2 billion during the earlier month.
